Welcome to ION. The following should serve as a quick reference to what you'd be expected to do when joining the raid team. Please feel free to follow up with the officers if you have any questions.
Loot Distribution - ION uses an EPGP system for loot. You will be awarded Effort Points for attending raids and given Gear Points when taking loot. The ratio of these two pools will determine whether you have first choice on a piece of loot. There are several additional rules to make the system work well in practice. Please see the main loot rules post for a full description of the rules.
Required Addons - Some addons are needed for raid management or loot distribution:
Text and Voice Chat - We use Discord for voice chat, and many updates about the current raid agenda, strategy videos, and the like are posted there as well. Ask any guild member for an invitation link to ION Discord, and then ask an officer for access privileges to guild-only channels.
Gems, Enchants, and Consumables - You shoud get +150 secondary stat gems and consider a single +200 primary stat gem if it is better than secondary stat gems. You should have +200 secondary stat gems on your rings, +200 primary stat on your clock, and an appropriate neck enchant. Food is available from the guild bank, and flasks will be provided throough cauldrons--but you will be responsible for contributing herbs regularly for them (more below). You should bring your own Prolonged Power potions or Mana Potions if applicable. One stack of Old War, Deadly Grace, or Leytorrent potions will be available each week for progression attempts. Vantus runes will be provided as well. If you're concerned about wasting an enchant on a lower ilvl piece or about cost, consult an officer, and we'll look into it.
Herb Contributions - Herbs are needed for cauldrons, potions, and vantus runes. Send 42 Starlight Roses and 30 of each other herb to the bank toon, Bionk, to be catalogued. You may also attend an Herb Party event to gather herbs with a raid of herbalists or to defend them from aggro. Any herbs gathered should be sent in turn and count as your contribution for the week, or if you are a defender, you will get credit for the week just by attending. Check your herb contribution status with the ION Herb Tracking Spreadsheet. Herb contributions are waived for your first week raiding, and the officers may waive them for a week when running a surplus. Heroic-only raiders need only contribute for the raids they attend.
Ranks and Promotion - For prospective members of the Mythic Raid Team, if you're just joining the guild or new to the raid team, you may be under a trial period of 12 raids (approx 4 weeks) before being considered for long-term promotion. The officers should give you a status update at the end of the trial period, ending in (a) promotion to Senior Raider, (b) notice that you haven't yet met our expectations but are still being considered, or (c) that you will no longer be considered for the Mythic Raid Team.
Other Expectations - Be on time at the instance yourself; summons are not routinely given for main raids. We appreciate criticism and input about improving the raids and attempts, but we insist on a basic level of civility and respect for others, and raiders should take care not to insult, condescend, or otherwise demean others when offering criticism of play.
